What would it be like to slow down from life’s busy pace?

Slow way down and notice what is around you…

Connect with your senses and yourself…

Nature and Forest Therapy is based on the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku or Forest Bathing and is essentially a structured period of time spent in a natural setting in which a set of rituals are followed to enhance one’s health and well-being. By just being in a forested setting, one breathes in immune boosting phytoncides from the trees. These natural chemicals given off by the trees also lower our stress hormones and reset our nervous system. Nature and Forest therapy walks can also take place in other natural settings. Being near water, for example, has been shown to calm our nervous system - perhaps because we are made up of approximately 60% water ourselves.

Relational Forest Therapy adds an extra component beyond the benefits of simply being present in nature. It offers the opportunity to connect with nature and with ourselves. The emphasis on being present in the moment and focusing on our senses has been reported to reduce anxiety, improve creativity, and enhance mood.

A Guided experience allows you to fully immerse and tune in to the moment without worry about timing or planning. It can bring a fresh perspective and supportive space to try something new.

Nature and Forest Therapy is commonly done as a slow walk, but can be adjusted for sites with fewer trails or participants with limited mobility.
